Judging #2: Nature
Ashley:
Montana: I like the pose, it definitely gives your body a great shape and keeps the shot interesting. The expression has that nice model tension but still keeps it a bit more fun to go with everything else in the shot. I like that you're owning the whole shot even with your hair coloring, I would say my complaint would be for something so close up I would have liked a better neck. Had you of tilted your head a bit more back you would have elevated the shot with better lighting on your face along with a nicer neck, this would have been superb but still a good shot here.
Mario: You were my biggest disappointment. You didn't even get a passing grade in my book. There were many things wrong with your shoot, after last week i wasn't expecting such a let down. I wish you get to bring it up next week or it might be struggling time for you.
Jamie: I don't like this the nature aspect is there but I don't see this as a Modeling shot. I think there are better photos out there that could have been used
Candice:
Mario: You're still struggling but I still have a lot of hopes for you. You're way better than this placement and I think you just have to find the right elements to shine. Some things weren't there in your shoot but you have it in you, BRING IT!
Montana: There's something I really like about the upper half of this shot, the lower half really just isn't strong. I think it's the awkward leg positioning, it causes the shot to be a bit thrown off. I think I may have preferred your other shot a bit more overall but I love your face in this so much. It's very boho chic, I wish I saw more nature there doesn't seem to be that much apparent and it seems to just be here and there.
Jamie: The only thing I can't get by with this is the words on the photo I think it would have been stronger had they not been there
Coco:
Montana: This shot looks like you've been caught mid-dance. I know that's pretty much a signature type of thing you do, but I'm not sure it's that great for this shot. I feel like the way you're posing is very unflattering and the pose does not help flatter the dress. I find that a model should always sell her outfit and this just does not do it, I wish that the dance was toned down a lot more but your expression is definitely your strength, last round it was great as well but it just isn't enough to save the whole shot.
Mario: You're in the bottom again for me and it is so mind boggling because for me you're top of the pack (physique and face wise) I really think that with a great photo you could be First Call Out next week... However, I also really think you're going home this week because you already had an opportunity and you blew it.
Jamie: I have to agree with the other judges on this it looks awkward
Edita:
Montana: Your body is slamming. I love the posing, it shows so much dynamic angles and keeps the eyes interested throughout the entire shot. I think the beach theme is there and it ties in with the nature super well. This is how you combine fashion and nature together into a strong photograph. This is what I call a tasteful nude. I like that you're using everything to your advantage.
Mario: The fact that I went from calling you not a model to The Face says it all. You pushed your boundaries and did great.
Freja:
Montana: I don't dock for logos, not sure about my fellow judges or not, unless they are covering the face or super distracting but where it is does not bother me and I wouldn't have commented had I not read your description. I kind of feel you don't stand out much, you're kind of blended into the tree behind you. You had to bring a bit more to the table in either pose or expression since it may seem too bored. My favorite part of this is the way your hand is placed, it gives an elegance yet sells that glove.
Mario: Another huge disappointment for me Freja. I was ready to see you rocking real life modelling situations after that amazing beauty shot. So, for me you fell very flat. I wish you prove me wrong, or you might be in trouble.
Ginta:
Montana: I think you found the angle the photographer was at because it's a tough angle but you worked it out. I like that you're looking as though you're just sitting there in the sand but the way your arm is positioned with holding onto the bag just sells it. I like that the shoulder details are shown off and the long legs brings attention to the skirt and shoes. I find that you're having a bit of troubles with eyes, it has been like this two weeks in a row, this is too intense for everything else that is going on in the shot.
Mario: You're still in the middle of the pack and you're still trying to get there. I think you have what it takes to bring a great photo next week and turn this competition around.
Jessica:
Montana: I absolutely find the dress horrendous, but you held your own in this shot. I find that this dress is so easy to be swallowed up but you're not letting that happen to you. The face is strong, the pose is good but it could have been better had you worked those legs a bit more. I'm seeing some good features to this shot but definitely it could have been stronger had you try to rock a different pose or angles.
Mario: Once again you're in the bottom for me, and this time you're struggling even more. The potential is still there honey but it might be too late for you to bring it.
Philip:
Montana: I don't see that much nature in this, it looks like you're standing on rocks. I'm not sure if this is a frozen river or a glacier or even just a river. I wanted a bit more theme connection since it seems more like a side note rather than something you're trying to pose in. I like the suit but you could have done a bit more since the pose is only alright, it comes off a bit distant in the expression rather than connecting or engaging. This had potential, the bar could have been raised by you.
Mario: Middle of the pack. Ready to fire away?
River:
Montana: It looks like you've gone out into the wilderness to take a little swim. The way your body is positioned it really shows us your assets while selling us the swimsuit and that necklace. I like that you're engaged with something off in the distant, I would have liked your hands to not been cropped out too much but there is something about this shot that I really like. Another note, stop looking off to the left it's becoming a bit redundant but definitely not something I'm docking points off for but I like a bit of variety.
Mario: For me, you're no longer an struggling model... you're getting there. You got better, you pushed...But i'm still missing A LOT from you and you know. Keep it coming HARDER!
Simon:
Montana: The overall picture is very good. I like that you're in the scenery of a ranch but I still find that you're the focus. The pose is nice and simple, not over-exaggerated to which it wouldn't fit with the setting. I would say my biggest criticism would be your expression, it reads almost dumb/blank, it could be stronger. This has so much potential to really go well with the theme, I find it would be strong had your expression been better. I like the way the jacket is shown off very nicely though so that's a plus.
Mario: Not every week you're going to be number one so I do applaud you for still being able to snap a great photograph. Don't lose your potential and keep on bringing it!
Vlada:
Montana: You have rocked such a great pose in this, I love the legs and the way they are crossed. The dress is nice and I like the summer vibe, I don't see much nature in this since it is just sky, I love solar flares as much as the next person but when it obstructs the face that much it definitely washes out such lovely features that I know you since you showed us last round. Great legs but would have liked to see more theme connection and your beautiful face.
Mario: The photo was great, you're now a top contender and one of the most consistent so far. Not bad Vlada, congrats!
